We're looking for a Social Media & Digital Marketing Coordinator


Unison Media, based in New York City, is an award-winning, market-leading, integrated music company with a new vision of how classical music, opera and the performing arts can be promoted. Our work ranges from publicity and branding to websites, social media and digital marketing and more, with clients such as Gustavo Dudamel, Wynton Marsalis, Lawrence Brownlee, Jeremy Denk, Conrad Tao, the JACKQuartet, Warner Classics and many more. We also run a badass concert series (Death ofClassical) in a Crypt in Harlem anda Catacomb in Brooklyn, that has been featured everywhere from The NewYork Times to NPR to Vogue. We’re changing the world of classical music, and having a great time doing it.

We want to bring on a top-notch social media guru to help us promote the careers and exploits of our world-class clients. Ideal candidates know the intimate ins and outs of each of the major platforms, and can work with us to develop a digital strategy for each of our clients that goes hand-in-virtual-hand with our larger PR work. They need to be able to create and leverage cutting-edge content, write killer copy that’s tailored to different voices, and then post to each platform with up-to-date best practices. We’ll also want this person to facilitate and manage any social media events, along the lines of Instagram takeovers, Facebook Lives, etc, as well as monitor any and all incoming messages, chatter on the interwebs, and so forth.

Basically, we want a rock star who can bring the same energy and brilliance to our social media that we bring to our PR and other endeavors… someone who lives and breathes the internet, and can bring new ideas to the table, keep our clients’ profile pages at the cutting-edge of awesomeness, and make us aware of any new platforms, influencers with whom we might collaborate, and anything else that might help us better tell our clients’ stories online.

Writing Prowess
You need to be a master of the pen, fluent in styles ranging from Mark Twain to the Twitterverse and back again. You should compose copy with confidence and care, be hip to the latest lingo them kids be a-slinging, have a firm grasp on all forms of memes, GIFs, Rage Faces and more. Bottom line - people should be wildly excited to communicate with you.

Social Media Guru-ness
You should know all there is to know about the major social media platforms, to the point where you obsessively keep yourself informed of the latest trends, updates and best practices. You should delve into settings, kick the tires, and know exactly what you can and can’t do with each platform. You should be truly and honestly excited about what social media allows us to do as communicators, and how it helps us tell the stories that matter most.

Design and Digital Media Savvy-ness
The internet is a visual medium, and you need to have an eye for design and know how to create beautiful content, from graphics to short videos and more. You don’t have to be Picasso or Scorsese, but at least know the basics…

Responsiveness and a flexible schedule
Social media doesn’t live that 9-5 life… you'll need to be willing to work nights and weekends when we have concerts and events, after hours on occasion if the need should arise, and be willing to manage a crisis whenever it might occur. Also, while not everything needs to be done right away, we definitely need someone who can be relied upon to respond when things are time-sensitive.

Laser-like attention to detail
You should be person who catches the little things that other people miss, especially when it comes to proofreading (did you catch the missing “the” at the start of this sentence? Good. Good for you.)

Borderline-obsessive organization and efficiency
Do you enjoy checking tasks off of your to do list? Does the word "workflow" perk your ears? Do you enjoy keyboard shortcuts? You’re in the right place.

Ability to multi-task
You're going to be keeping a lot of plates spinning at the same time, and you need to be comfortable staying on top of everything and keeping several different projects in your mind all at once.

A passion for classical music and general aesthetics

Crafting copy and posting to various platforms for our classical music and opera clients       

Facilitating and managing any social media events like takeovers, livestreams, etc.

Optimizing and maintaining client pages and profiles

Monitoring all accounts on a daily basis for comments, content and potential issues

Managing websites for our ongoing clients

Developing strategic initiatives around partnerships, influencers, new platforms and more

Various administrative tasks


This is a full-time position with salary and benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience.
